Psychological Evaluations for Bariatric Surgery

Just as you might be making important decisions about whether or not bariatric surgery is right for you, your surgeon also has to determine if you are an appropriate candidate for this surgery.

Psychological Evaluations are an important part of the pre-surgery screening process. This evaluation begins by gathering information  about your health and weight history, your support system, and other background information. This is followed by giving you psychological tests, to  make sure that you can understand your surgery and post-operative care, as well as to determine any psychological conditions that might interfere with your ability to succeed with bariatric surgery.

Depending on your insurance company’s procedures, we can often complete this evaluation in one appointment. Most insurance policies are accepted. Call our office if you would like more information.

After you have scheduled an appointment, please download and complete BARIATRIC FORMS, bring them with you to the appointment.
